Who Do You Want To Be?
I know who I am. I am a strong, caring, considerate, passionate, loving, hardworking, and soul-searching woman. I am a daughter of the King and my wonderful parents, a sister, a friend, a dog mom, a wedding planner, a writer, a style curator, a world traveler, a reader, and a visionary. But I also know who I want to be. It’s 2018 y’all! We are blessed as women to have more power and opportunities than ever before, and we have so many strong female role models who have forged groundbreaking paths. I look up to women like Michelle Obama, Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres, Emma Watson, Tyra Banks, and Stephanie May Wilson, not to mention the incredible women I personally know and love. I see so many exemplary qualities in each of these people that I strive to adopt for myself. Together, these women are influencing and inspiring the kind of woman I want to be. And here’s who that is:
I want to be the kind of woman who lives and breathes her authentic truths.
I want to be the kind of woman who believes in her values and morals so much that nothing can shake them.
I want to be the kind of woman who believes in herself so strongly that she exudes confidence and refuses to let the world change her.
I want to be the kind of woman who is her own biggest fan and respects herself so deeply that she will not allow anyone to treat her in a way any less than what she deserves.
I want to be the kind of woman who is unafraid to have the hard conversations with people, and who can find the right words to assert herself while still maintaining a sense of kindness and respect.
I want to be the kind of woman who has her hair, outfit, make-up, and household put together, but also the kind of woman who forgives herself when these things aren’t perfect.
I want to be the kind of woman who has a well-rounded knowledge of the world and can intelligently and respectfully speak her mind.
I want to be the kind of woman who is constantly focused on self-development and personal growth, so that she is an ever-evolving work in progress.
I want to be the kind of woman who pours love into her family and friends, yet still knows and values the significance of self-nourishment.
I want to be the kind of woman who knows her self-worth and will not settle for anything less.
I want to be the kind of woman who leads with her heart and is kind to everyone above all else.
I want to be the kind of woman who worships and loves the Lord so much that His light radiates from her soul.
In this life, I’ve learned that there are few things I can actually control, one of them being me. Therefore, the more that I improve myself, the more that I am able to make a positive impact on the world. My hope is that I grow the amazing qualities that my role models embody, and maybe one day, I will become a role model for someone else too. Maybe I’ll even become a mentor, a companion, a friend, and a light for someone else as well. That is the kind of woman that I would love to be.
